[KEIN BUG]Custom SMTP server encryption

My German is very bad, so i will post this in English.
For my own e-mail domain i use runbox.com as an e-mail hoster.
They only support SMTP using encrypted channel, no clear text any more, 2 options:
port 465 TLS/SSL
port 587 STARTTLS
i tried both of them but it doesn't work (on test message 587 gives transmission failed, 465 gives no error at all and seems to be hanging).
Account and password are working. I suppose the problem is the encryption ?
Another remark: the password is in readable text which is not very secure...

An encryption is not forseen, you can use the default webserver.

Thanks for the reply, but my mailhoster doesn't offer standard SMTP without encryption...
Can encryption be added ?
